Plein Air

Last Saturday, I participated in the National Museum of Transportation Plein Air Event and my painting won Second Place!

It was a rainy day but, luckily, I found a small protected place to paint. The protected place got smaller after each downpour! I was glad I was able to keep my painting dry and finish it in spite of the weather.

The previous weekend, I participated in the Paint Webster Plein Air Event. I didn't win a prize but I did enjoy painting outside on such a beautiful day.

There is no exhibit of the plein air paintings at the Museum of Transportation. Webster Arts does have many of the Paint Webster paintings on exhibit until June 12th.

VxVII Show

The VxVII Art Exhibition opened yesterday at the Heartland Art Club in Kirkwood.

There are over 120 pieces of framed, 5"x7" size art in the show for sale including my gouache painting of persimmons.

The Heartland Art Club is a great gallery to visit and view traditional, representational art by local artists. The show runs until January 24, 2026.

Tiny Art

I was accepted to display my small gouache paintings in The Tiny Art Show in Hermann, Missouri. The Fancy Pheasant and The Old Vine Kitchen Emporium, two stores which are across the street from each other, are hosting the show. There are 230 business card sized pieces of art for sale made by about fifty artists. The stores' owners priced each piece at $75. The show runs from now until November 22nd.

My husband and I attended the opening reception last night and saw some beautiful tiny artwork. We also really enjoyed the Landscape: Views from the Easel art exhibit at the Scenic Regional Library. There sure are a lot of talented artists' work on display this fall in such a small town!

Plein Air

Last week I participated in the Creve Coeur Plein Air event and my painting was awarded Honorable Mention! It was like the icing on the cake to a very fun experience. (My painting was also purchased!)

The weather was perfect for being outdoors, I met five other friendly and talented artists, and I was surrounded by birds all day, including an owl!

For me, painting plein air is a wonderful way to focus only on creating and making pretty art. I highly recommend it for uplifting your spirits!

Fall cards

Ginkgo leaves and persimmons are my new greeting card designs. They can be found at Moonbeams or by contacting me.

Union Studio recently opened another pretty store. It is called The Lobby by Union Studio and is located in the MADE building on Delmar. The new store offers locally made art, bakery goods, and books. A common space can be used for reading, relaxing, and attending author presentations. Eight of my gift enclosure designs are available for purchase there. Check it out!
